 Can sounds be extracted?

Forgive my memory, but I can't quite recall if there was a way or program to extract the sounds from the game files. There game has some pretty interesting sounds at times.

Yes and no ;)
The game itself didn't come bundled with sound files, it only had commands for the sound device (OPL(soundblaster) or MT32) to produce sounds.
But the sound effects have been recorded and are being used in our soundpacks. These are flx files but you can use our tool expack (if you are a windows user you can download the tools snapshot) to extract the wav files (they will not be called *.wav so you will need to rename the files ).
