Okay, so I am very new to this phorum. Ive tried everything (except hunting though the forum) because I really dont know where exactly the problem lies. And I figure there seems to be a lot of smart people on here who might be able to help me. If I am wrong in my posting, please let me know and I will do what I can to not let it happen again.
I am not very smart when it comes to technology. I cant find the problem, nor can I fix it. I can tell you that I have Windows XP and other than that...I know nothing.
I used to have exult on my computer. I believe it might have been the 1.2 version. Then my computer crashed and I lost everything. So I came here to download Exult again and discovered the 1.4.9 version. I installed it and found that everything was smaller and the whole red X though the sound. But that didnt bother me. I continued to play the game and was happy. Then things got weird. My game would lag really bad. It would glitch like crazy whenever i was trying to get in a carriage or fly on the magic carpet. I choose to suck it up and deal with it. Then things got worse. The game itself would crash for no reason. Then it started freezing and I would have to completely restart my computer. I went to go play it yesterday hoping i could just save a lot and suck it up. But when i loaded it the blue exult lettering in the opening screen was huge and I couldnt click on anything. When I just tried again it would show the huge lettering then crash. I tried to uninstall and reinstall today and the same thing keeps occurring. Huge letters then crash. I tried download an older version and it extracts itself but then I dont know what to do. I cant seem to get an exult icon or anything to pop up. I am at a loss and desperate. I seriously suck with computers and technology and fixing these kinds of issues.
This game is one of the greatest RPG's ever to me and I used to love playing it when I was a kid. I am sorry I have typed so much here, but if there is anything anyone can do to help me I would be so very appreciative. Once again I am sorry if this has been mentioned before or if the answer lies somewhere I have not seen. If anyone who wishes to help needs more information please let me know and I will get it to you.
