creating books/scrolls

What is the best way to go about creating books and scrolls in the game? I figured it was similar to making an npc script and modifying it but that didnt' work. I cannot seem to find anything on making books or scrolls anywhere.

You must use either the book_mode or the book_mode_ex intrinsic for books and scrolls. For an example, see this, from the Keyring mod. Check this for information about intrinsics in general, inluding book_mode and book_mode_ex.
