Disappearing Trainer in SI

I poked through the bug tracker on Sourceforge and found a similiar problem, but with no real solution. As far as I can tell, Luther has dissapeared forever from my savegame.

I think I was there when it happened too. I was training Iolo with Luther, and he'd accidentally walked out of the training area with Iolo. I assumed that maybe he'd reset if I reloaded the save. Or reset at SOME point. So I did, and he dissapeared. I didn't think much of it at the time, except for the fact that now he is NOWHERE to be found. The NPC cheat screen states his location as something like 4000 by 4000ish, which as far as I've tried, is not reachable by any means.

I've attempted to use the [`]Teleport command in the NPC screen, but apparently that conflicts with the tilde key and all I can do is give him more training points. :/

Is there ANY way to fix this without handing my save over to a programmer?

Actually, I think that's the single quote [ ' ] character. Works for me.

if he is in that location range then the teleport feature won't help. He's off the map and lost.

Similar problems here;

First, Templar disappeared from the game (his face and lines popped up in the banquet, but otherwise he's nowhere to be found; debug mode gives his location as 4088, 4080, 00 )
- I entered the List Field to fight, Templar got his ass kicked, and managed to run away out of the door. He stayed in a corner, wouldn't react to trying to talk to him, nothing. Later on, he was gone.

Now, the guy who lets you into the List Field to train or fight (I forget if he even has a name; I think it's just a pikeman?) is gone. I found he had disappeared after I completed Silver Seed and returned. A friend of mine had the same problem after Silver Seed, apparently.

V. annoying. Any ideas for fixes or ways to avoid this?

The reason why the head-trainer of the list field disappears is stated in the FAQ.
