 Setting Offsets for New Shapes?

There hasn't been much discussion about setting offset for new shapes and sprites. How can I set these correctly?

I've had some success with just trial and error, changing the Origin (x, y) settings as needed until I found the right setting.

With that being the lower right corner to offset from?

I think so, and adjusting the x, y as needed with trial and error you should be able to find the right setting
